Hospital management software for Sri Lanka’s private sector

A consultant appointment, a laboratory result and a pharmacy bill can each tell part of the patient’s story. The challenge for a private hospital or clinic is to keep those parts understandable across the visit. When the patient returns, the team needs the clinical history as well as the record of services provided.

NextHealth offers hospital information system and EMR workflows for private hospitals, medical centres and clinics in Sri Lanka. The discussion starts with how your team registers patients, records consultations, handles diagnostics and completes billing. For a channelling centre, review the actual consultant-session and payment requirements against the available appointment workflow rather than assuming a specialist channelling integration.

Private facility registration and digital health

The Private Health Services Regulatory Council oversees registration under the Private Medical Institutions (Registration) Act. Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health has also published a Digital Health Blueprint. These establish relevant regulatory and national programme context, but neither makes a vendor’s software approved or connected to a national exchange.

Care supports structured records and the documented HL7 and FHIR exchange capability. No Sri Lankan national EHR connection, insurer portal adapter or government-system integration is claimed. Review each proposed interface and its receiving requirements separately.

The Personal Data Protection Act, as amended, belongs in your implementation review. Confirm the provisions and commencement arrangements applicable to your organisation, along with notices, access, processing contracts and any transfer conditions. Hosting location and support access need agreement before patient information is loaded.

A practical clinical and operational scope

NXH Care brings appointments, registration, clinical notes, prescribing and billing into the selected workflow. Clinics Pro adds laboratory, radiology and claims records. Hospitals adds inpatient and nursing work; emergency and theatre are still being completed and need separate availability confirmation.

NXH Engage supports booking, packages, memberships and patient relationships where a private clinic needs those workflows. NXH Flow provides document versions, policy approvals, staff credentials, incident investigations and complaints. Those records help your team examine its work, without claiming a verified PHSRC requirements mapping or automatic regulatory submission.

NextHealth Technologies is Alpha Health Group’s software division. The group operates healthcare facilities and consults on accreditation in the UAE. That background informs the product’s attention to the consultation record, professional responsibilities and the evidence behind operational decisions.

Start with your patient and payment workflow

Bring a sample visit, a diagnostic result and the bill your team needs to explain. Review any insurer or corporate billing requirements, data migration and hosting together. The current interface is English; Sinhala and Tamil interfaces are not claimed. Agree the implementation scope around demonstrated workflows and the people who will use them.

Bring three things to your Sri Lanka demo

A useful first conversation starts with your own work, not a feature list.

Book a demo
  1. A patient encounter

One representative visit, from registration to the signed clinical record.

  2. A payer or payment workflow

The claim, invoice or package your team handles most, and the response it needs.

  3. An evidence question

One licensing, quality or inspection requirement you need to be able to show.

Common questions

Care offers clinic and hospital plans covering clinical records and billing, with diagnostics and inpatient workflows in the relevant plans. Review your services, payment arrangements and implementation requirements against a demonstration before selecting the scope.

The available appointment workflow can be reviewed for the centre’s needs. Consultant sessions, fee arrangements and external channelling-platform connections require specific assessment; no specialist local channelling adapter is claimed.

No national EHR or exchange connection is claimed. Care’s general exchange capability provides a starting point for technical scoping, but a local connection needs agreed specifications, testing and activation evidence.

No. Flow provides selected operational records, such as policies, credentials and incident evidence. The facility remains responsible for its registration and applicable requirements, and a complete PHSRC mapping is not claimed.

Confirm the hosting location, support access and any transfer arrangements before implementation. NextHealth uses an in-country cloud region wherever regulation requires it; no specific Sri Lankan cloud environment is asserted as already provisioned.

The current product interface is English. Sinhala and Tamil interfaces are not claimed. Review staff language needs, patient-facing documents and training requirements during scoping before deciding whether the available workflow meets your needs.
