Appointments
NextHealth CareIncluded in every Care product
Scheduling should take seconds, not phone calls between departments. NextHealth Care shows every clinician's real availability in one calendar, with the exact time and length of each open slot on hover. Reception finds the patient, picks the visit type and books, while past slots are protected against accidental backdating. A moved appointment is one drag away, and every confirmed booking flows straight into check-in, so nothing is typed twice and the front desk stays calm.

Appointment scheduling that keeps every clinic full
A patient calls to move her Thursday appointment. Instead of searching three diaries, reception opens the calendar filtered to her doctor, drags the visit to an open Monday slot and confirms. The original slot opens straight away for someone else, and the change is recorded against the booking.
Because slots are generated from each clinician's session template, the calendar only ever shows time that is really available. The day view puts doctors side by side for the busiest moments, and the week view shows each doctor's commitments at a glance. Video and phone consultations are booked exactly like clinic visits.
A routine booking takes a few clicks and well under a minute, and the details captured at booking, from visit type to chief complaint, travel with the patient into check-in and the consultation. No one asks the patient the same question twice, and clinic managers see how full each session is without building a spreadsheet.
How appointment scheduling works in NextHealth Care
Appointment scheduling software manages clinician and room availability and records every patient booking. In NextHealth Care, the scheduling module turns each doctor's working pattern into bookable time and links every booking to check-in and the consultation.
- Set up sessions. Each clinician's session template defines working days, hours, slot length, room and department.
- Generate availability. Open slots are created from those templates, so the calendar shows only time that is really available.
- Book the visit. Reception filters by doctor, specialty or department, chooses a slot, finds the patient and records visit type, modality, priority and chief complaint.
- Confirm or change. Bookings are confirmed, moved by dragging to another open slot, or cancelled with a reason, releasing the slot for someone else.
- Hand over to the desk. On the day, the booking appears on the front desk board, ready for check-in.
