Staff messaging

NextHealth Care

Included in every Care product

Staff messaging gives every member of the team a secure way to reach colleagues inside NextHealth Care. Anyone can send a direct message to a colleague or start a channel for a department or team, and every conversation can be searched later. Unread messages are counted in the menu so nothing is missed. Because messages stay in the system rather than on personal phones, patient information is not scattered across private chat apps.

What it covers

  • Direct messages between colleagues
  • Channels for a department or team
  • Search across conversations
  • Unread messages counted in the menu

Why it is hard to do well

Patient information does not belong in personal chat apps

Team conversations, kept where the care happens

When the system has no way to talk, staff use their own phones, and patient details end up in personal chat groups the facility cannot see or control. Staff messaging keeps those conversations inside NextHealth Care.

Direct messages and channels

Staff pick a colleague to message directly, or create a channel for a department or a team, such as the ward nurses or the front desk. Channels give a group one place for the conversation instead of a chain of separate messages.

Finding what was said

Conversations can be searched, so a decision or an instruction can be found again rather than scrolled for.

Not missing anything

Unread messages are counted beside Messages in the menu, so a reply is noticed between patients.

Staff messaging is part of every Care product, because a clinic should not have to pay extra to keep patient information off personal phones.
