Outpatient clinics
NextHealth CareIncluded in every Care product
A clinic visit passes through many hands: reception, the nurse, the doctor, the pharmacy and the cashier. When each step lives in a different system, patients wait while staff search. NextHealth Care runs the whole visit through one record. The doctor's worklist shows who is ready and why they came, the consultation produces orders, prescriptions, certificates and referrals without leaving the screen, and the next appointment is booked before the patient stands up.
What it covers
- Clinic session management and doctor-wise load
- Follow-up scheduling at the point of consultation
- Sick leave, medical certificates and referral letters
- Package and course-of-treatment tracking
The follow-up should be booked before the patient leaves
Outpatient clinics that run on time
A patient with diabetes finishes her review. Without leaving the consultation, the doctor orders an HbA1c, renews her prescription, issues a sick leave certificate and books her follow-up in three months. She walks past reception with nothing left to arrange, and her next visit is already in the calendar.
Clinic managers see each doctor's load and how long patients wait at every stage, so they can rebalance sessions before queues build. Packages and courses of treatment, such as a block of physiotherapy sessions, are tracked across visits, so staff always know what has been used and what remains.
Booking the follow-up at the point of care is a small design choice with a large effect: patients who leave with their next appointment confirmed are more likely to return, and the desk spends less time on call-backs. Every document the visit produces stays in one record. Staff move between steps without switching systems or logins.
How outpatient management works in NextHealth Care
An outpatient management system, often called OPD software, runs clinic visits from arrival to checkout. In NextHealth Care, the outpatient module connects scheduling, the front desk, nursing, the doctor's consultation, the pharmacy and billing in one visit record.
Plan the sessions. Each doctor's clinic sessions are set up, with patient load visible per session.
Arrival and triage. The front desk checks the patient in, the nurse records vitals, and the patient joins the doctor's worklist.
Consultation. The doctor documents the visit and issues orders, prescriptions, certificates and referral letters from one screen.
Follow-up. The next appointment is booked from inside the consultation.
Checkout. Charges are captured from the visit, the bill is settled and packages are updated.
