Regulatory audits

NextHealth Flow

Sold on its own, or with Flow Documents

Regulatory audits is where a facility audits itself against its regulatory requirements in NextHealth Flow. Audits are set out by scope, such as infection control, laboratory, radiology and facility management, and then requirement by requirement. The auditor records each requirement as met, partly met, not met or not applicable, with the action required, the team responsible and photographs, and the finished audit is approved and kept with its findings.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Scoped

  2. Step 2

    Checked

Met, partly met, not met or not applicable

  3. Step 3

    Owned

Action required and the team responsible

  4. Step 4

    Evidenced

    Photographs on each finding

  5. Step 5

    Approved

Signed off and kept on record

What it covers

  • Met, partly met, not met or not applicable
  • Action required and the team responsible
  • Photographs attached to each finding
  • Approved audits kept with their findings
Why it is hard to do well

Survey readiness is a habit, not a project

Ready for the regulator, all year

Audit preparation often means a rush of checking before a survey, then starting again next time. Flow Quality lets a facility audit itself against its requirements whenever it chooses, and keeps every audit.

Requirement by requirement

The auditor picks the scopes to cover, such as infection control, laboratory or radiology, and works through each requirement in turn, marking it met, partly met, not met or not applicable. Requirements marked not applicable carry over to the next audit.

Every finding owned

A finding records the action required and the team responsible, with photographs taken on the walk round. A finding is marked new, old or recurrent, so a problem found again is not lost. The finished audit goes to a named approver.

A clear picture

Each audit shows how many requirements are complete, past audits stay on record, and the requirements not met print as a list to work through before the regulator visits.

Questions we get asked

Regulatory audits is part of Flow Quality, which is sold on its own or with Flow Documents.

The requirements are grouped by scope, from organisation and management to infection control, laboratory, radiology, facility and equipment, and occupational safety. The auditor picks the scopes for each audit.

No software can do that. Flow records which requirements are met and which are not; your team does the work and signs it off.

The auditor attaches photographs to each finding, and the approved audit keeps them with its results.
