Patient portal
NextHealth CareAn add-on for any Care product that does not already include it
Patients expect to manage their care from their phone, and every routine call to reception is time your desk could spend with the person in front of it. NextHealth Care's portal and app give patients secure access to their own record: appointments, results, prescriptions, invoices and consent forms. Teleconsultations are documented in the same record as clinic visits, and clinicians decide which results are released to patients and exactly when.
What it covers
- Portal or app: appointments, results, prescriptions, invoices
- Consent capture and digital signature
- Teleconsultation with documentation into the same encounter
- Result release rules with clinician-controlled holds on sensitive results
Sensitive results should be discussed before they are released
A patient portal and app connected to the record
The evening before her appointment, a patient confirms her booking in the app and signs her consent forms. When she arrives the next morning, check-in takes a moment because everything is already on file. A week later, her normal results appear in the app with a note from her doctor.
Routine questions about appointment times, results and invoices move from the phone to the app, freeing reception to focus on patients at the desk. Teleconsultations run through the portal and are documented in the same encounter structure as in-person visits, so the record stays complete.
Release rules are a clinical decision. Clinicians control which results are released and when, and can hold sensitive results until they have spoken with the patient, so nobody learns about a serious diagnosis from a notification. Everything patients see comes from the same record the care team uses. Patients need no training: the app shows only what is relevant to them.
How the patient portal works in NextHealth Care
A patient portal gives patients secure online access to their own health information and services. In NextHealth Care, the portal and app read from the same record the care team uses.
- Sign in securely. Patients sign in to see only their own record.
- Manage appointments. Bookings are made, confirmed and changed from the app.
- See information. Released results, prescriptions and invoices are available at any time.
- Sign consents. Consent forms are signed digitally before the visit.
- Consult remotely. Video consultations are documented in the same record, while clinicians control which results are released and when.
