Dental clinics

NextHealth Care

An add-on for any Care product that does not already include it

The dental clinic module is the dentist's workspace inside NextHealth Care. A dental visit opens a tooth chart where each finding is marked on its tooth and surface, a periodontal chart recorded at six sites per tooth, and dental diagrams the dentist can pin, draw on and label. Findings carry a status, from existing to planned to completed, and the treatment plan books its visits as appointments. Allergies and current medicines stay in view at the chair.

What it covers

  • Tooth chart: findings marked per tooth and surface, for adult and primary teeth, in FDI or Universal numbering
  • Each finding marked existing, planned, completed or monitoring, with the history of every tooth
  • Periodontal chart: six sites per tooth, pocket depth, bleeding on probing, mobility and missing teeth
  • Dental diagrams to annotate with pins, freehand drawing and marked teeth, saved with the visit
  • Dental history and examination: complaint, pain, symptoms, oral habits and dental anxiety
  • Treatment plans in phases, with each item or phase booked straight into appointments
Why it is hard to do well

A tooth chart is only useful beside the medical record

A dental workspace inside the clinic's patient record

When a patient is booked into the dental clinic, the visit opens the dental workspace rather than the general consultation screen. The dentist charts each finding on the tooth and surface it affects, for adult or primary teeth, in FDI or Universal numbering.

Every finding carries a status. An existing filling, a planned crown and a completed root canal sit on one chart, and each tooth keeps its own history across visits.

The periodontal chart records six sites per tooth: pocket depth, bleeding on probing, mobility and missing teeth. When a note needs a picture, the dental diagrams take pins, freehand drawing and marked teeth.

Planned care that reaches the diary

Treatment plans are built in phases, and an item or a whole phase can be booked into appointments from the plan, so the next visits are in the diary before the patient leaves. Allergies, medicines and the medical history sit beside the chart, diagnoses are coded in ICD-10, and the signed visit is locked like any other in the record.

Yes. Allergies, current medicines and the medical history are shown beside the chart and can be carried into the visit note.

Plans are built in phases. An item, or a whole phase, can be booked into appointments from the plan, and each appointment stays linked to the item it delivers.

Yes. The dentist signs the visit, which locks the note. A correction after signing is made as an addendum with a reason.
