Are patients matched automatically?

No. Engage suggests possible matches between its clients and HIS patients, and a person confirms or dismisses each one.

Does clinical information move into Engage?

No. Appointments, patient matches and payments are exchanged. Diagnoses, clinical notes and results stay in the HIS.

Part of the Care connection add-on

Care connect links NextHealth Engage to the NextHealth Care HIS, branch by branch. A connected branch mirrors its HIS appointments every minute and receives signed updates from the HIS. Possible matches between Engage clients and HIS patients are suggested for a person to confirm, never linked automatically. The front desk can collect payment against an HIS bill at the Engage till; the payment is sent to the HIS, retried until the HIS confirms it, and shown in HIS reconciliation.

Engage and Care, working from the same facts

NextHealth Engage handles enquiries, bookings, packages and payments at the front of the clinic. NextHealth Care, the hospital information system, holds the clinical record. A connected branch lets the two work together while each keeps its own job.

What is exchanged

Appointments. HIS appointments are mirrored into Engage every minute, so the front desk sees the whole day. They stay managed in the HIS.
Patients. Engage suggests possible matches between its clients and HIS patients, and a person confirms or dismisses each one. Nothing is linked automatically.
Payments. The front desk can collect cash, card or online payment against an HIS bill at the Engage till. Engage sends it to the HIS and retries until the HIS confirms it.

Built to be checked

Messages from the HIS are signed and processed once, even if they arrive twice. Updates for a branch that is offline are held and replayed when it reconnects. Every exchange is logged, and HIS reconciliation shows what has been collected and what is still owed.

Clinical records never move into Engage: diagnoses, notes and results stay in the HIS.
